As the largest social network in the world, it’s hard to ignore Facebook, especially if you are planning a marketing campaign. Facebook marketing has evolved slowly but steadily over the past few years and it’s important that you and your marketers don’t get left behind when it comes to the changes.
So how can you make sure your Facebook marketing is hitting the mark in 2017? Here are three simple ways to improve your results:
Create a saved audience
If you haven’t already, creating a saved audience on Facebook is an effective and easy way to better target your posts and content. This is a great trick for companies with a fairly niche audience or who have done audience research and compiled some strong personas.
Facebook’s Business Manager allows you to create custom audiences based on a certain set of parameters to help your content reach the right demographic. Much like LinkedIn, you can divide people by their age, location, or what they’re interested in. This means your content and posts are much more focused and have a much greater chance of engaging with the people who see it.
Put a CTA on your business page
In 2016 Facebook gave businesses the ability to put a call to action (CTA) on their business page. If you haven’t already taken advantage of this, you should. It allows companies to put a button on the bottom of the cover image on the page so you can direct visitors to your website or make it easier for them to contact you.
With the CTA making it much easier to get in touch with you, it’s important that all companies respond to any online interactions from consumers. They may not all be positive, but social is a fantastic way to boost your customer service. If someone has a complaint, try and get to the bottom of their grievance and solve their problem. You can always ask them to message you privately, but solving their matter under the scrutiny of the public eye can be priceless PR if you do it right.
Live streaming is expected to be a massive trend for 2017 and there’s no better time to start than right now. Companies are already using it to engage with consumers, as video content is growing significantly in popularity on social networks, and there’s no reason why you can’t join in too. It doesn’t have to be particularly long, but you can use Facebook Live to share when you’re at a conference or something that champions your company values.
